When the institutions entrusted with protecting children become part of the harm, who holds them accountable?

WHEN THE SYSTEM BECOMES PART OF THE HARM
Family Court Watch Collective investigates the institutions, professional networks, judicial practices, and financial incentives that shape family-court outcomes in Massachusetts.
We examine what happens when children disclose abuse, protective parents seek intervention, and court-connected systems prioritize enforced contact over safety.
Through documented investigations, advocacy, and survivor knowledge, we expose institutional failures and build practical resources to help families challenge them.
Our mission is to turn isolated experiences into documented patterns, and documented patterns into accountability.
INVESTIGATIONS
Follow the money. Examine connections. Demand accountability.
Family Court Watch Collective investigates how money, professional networks, and court practices shape outcomes in Massachusetts family courts.
We examine who gets appointed, who gets paid, who benefits, and who provides oversight. Our focus includes professional qualifications, conflicts of interest, public spending, and businesses built around court-ordered services.
Through public records, documented experiences, and independent research, we trace financial relationships, identify recurring patterns, and document gaps in oversight and accountability.
SURVIVOR KNOWLEDGE
Connect experiences. Document patterns. Inform change.
Protective parents and survivors have spent years gathering evidence, examining court records, identifying recurring practices, and helping one another.
Family Court Watch Collective brings that knowledge together. We connect experiences across cases with public records, legal research, clinical evidence, and investigative reporting.
By bringing survivors, researchers, and advocates together, we ensure that critical information does not remain isolated in individual cases. Shared knowledge helps us identify recurring patterns, investigate unanswered questions, and strengthen collective efforts toward meaningful reform.
ADVOCACY
Protect children. End coercive practices. Advance reform.
We challenge family-court practices that dismiss abuse, disrupt established therapeutic relationships, enable abusive litigation, or put children at risk.
We oppose coercive reunification practices that force contact, isolate children from safe parents and trusted supports, or use threats and punishment to secure compliance.
We also challenge requirements that force families to privately finance court-ordered interventions without adequate evidence of safety and effectiveness or meaningful consideration of their ability to pay.
We bring survivors, researchers, advocates, and policymakers together to strengthen protections, confront institutional failures, and advance accountability.
